Meet the Owner
Hi, I’m Mary Lou, the web designer and UX strategist behind Cardinal Web Services. My path into web design started with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics, which is not the most conventional background for a designer, but probably the most useful one I could have brought with me.
I found out early on that I was motivated when I could combine logic and creativity to turn challenges into clean, workable solutions. When I discovered web design, I realized it was the perfect place for that kind of thinking. It still shapes how I approach every project today. I look for the structure underneath the surface and the details that either support the experience or quietly work against it. For the past five years, I have designed Squarespace websites for small businesses across a range of industries. That experience has taught me how strategy, structure, and design work together to shape the way people perceive a business online.
I do not believe a website needs to be flashy or overly complicated to be effective. A strong website should make sense for the business behind it and feel effortless for the people using it. My goal is to create websites that reflect the quality of your work and help small businesses show up with more confidence online.
